Avoid water and steam for at least 18 hours whilst they set. After that you can get them wet and be exposed to steam and saunas as often as you'd like - unlike eyelash extensions.
Since this is a perming treatment it can dry out the lash hairs. Therefore, it's very important to apply an aftercare oil to the lashes every night to keep them healthy and soft. This also keeps them in better condition so that at your next appointment the lashes receive a better lift.
If you do not apply an aftercare oil, overtime you can risk breakage, over-curling or frizzled lashes especially if you're getting lash lifts regularly.
This helps to stop the natural lashes from twisting or crossing over each other which can happen whilst you sleep or if you rub your eyes during the day.
You are more than welcome to wear mascara after the initial 18 hours has passed. I personally love the look of mascara on lifted lashes as it can add length and thickness to really make them POP!
Unlike eyelash extensions, you do not have to avoid oil-based products. You can use whatever you'd like around the eyes. If wearing makeup, just remove gently and avoid excessive scrubbing on the lashes.
The products I use for a lash lift are a cysteamine-based system, meaning it is very gentle on the lashes. If the lash lift hasn't lifted enough for you or they have curled too much, you can let me know and we can perform another lash lift (or lash relaxation) immediately after.
